Frazer Parfum, founded in 2008 by Tammy Frazer, creates organic and natural perfume products and is based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Our brief was to conceptualise and design packaging for Frazer Parfum’s new fragrance, bok, a calming first scent for babies and the nursery inspired by Tammy’s journey into motherhood.
‘Bok’, a diminutive of springbok in South Africa, is a term of endearment for children.
Our idea was to give the iconic and beloved rocking horse a local refresh, creating the rocking bok. The novel packaging features a curved base, mimicking that of a rocking horse, so that when gently pushed it rocks back and forth.
The design keeps it simple, featuring an illustrated ‘rocking bok’ as the focal element. The name ‘bok’ and all copy appears in lowercase, reinforcing the concept of ‘little ones’.
The rocking concept was further interpreted through to the rest of the bok range, including a perfume base,
moisture bar and candle.
As an extension of the rocking concept, we had the idea to create a life-sized rocking bok as an in-store display, as beautifully brought to life by local furniture designer, Andrew Dominic.
